Vapour Pressure Deficit

Product Overview

A measure to quantify the difference between the amount of moisture in the air and the maximum amount that can be held in the air at a specific temperature. When this is high the air can hold a lot more moisture, this allows plants to lose water more quickly.

If this occurs over weeks or months it can lead to an abundance of dead or dry vegetation, giving a more ignitable environment and a larger and more dangerous wildfires.
