Alpes-Maritimes Living Labs

Co-Designing Localised Risk Management Tools in the French Alps

The GOBEYOND Living Lab in the Alpes-Maritimes region of southeastern France brings together local and regional actors to co-create a tailored platform, supported by PREDICT Services. The Lab focuses on municipalities frequently affected by hydrometeorological and geological hazards—particularly Cannes, Sospel, and Guillaumes—equipping them with tools to strengthen risk preparedness and crisis management.

First Co-Creation Workshops November-December 2024

Guillaumes Workshop – 26 November 2024

The first co-creation session in the region took place in the municipality of Guillaumes on November 26, 2024. Civil protection stakeholders, local policymakers, and technical staff came together to discuss current practices and limitations in disaster response.

Cannes Workshop – 5 December 2024

Held in the urban context of Cannes, this workshop focused on risk preparedness in a densely populated coastal area. Representatives from the municipality discussed how the MR-IEWS could help bridge gaps in emergency response.

Sospel Workshop – 5 December 2024

An additional workshop was held in the municipality of Sospel—a mountain town regularly exposed to both hydrometeorological and geological hazards. The session aimed to understand specific local needs.
